...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM CDT
FOR NORTHWESTERN CHAMBERS...SOUTH CENTRAL LIBERTY AND SOUTHEASTERN
HARRIS COUNTIES...

At 658 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Lake Houston to Houston Ship Channel to South Belt /
Ellington, and are nearly stationary.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Pasadena, Baytown, La Porte, Deer Park, South Houston, Seabrook,
southwestern Liberty, Beach City, Channelview, Highlands, Barrett,
northern South Belt / Ellington, Cloverleaf, northern Clear Lake,
Crosby, Mont Belvieu, Taylor Lake Village, El Lago, Shoreacres, and
Old River-Winfree.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Texas.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas...

  East Fork San Jacinto near New Caney affecting Harris, Montgomery
  and Liberty Counties.

For the East Fork San Jacinto River...including New Caney...Moderate
flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
  forecast.

* WHERE...East Fork San Jacinto near New Caney.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 58.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins in the
  vicinity of the gage with minor roads such as Chinquapin and
  Riverside Roads beginning to flood.
  At 62.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins with secondary
  roads near the river inundated, including FM 1485 west of the
  river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 59.1 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 54.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:00 AM CDT Thursday was 61.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    tomorrow afternoon and continue rising to a crest of 65.2
    feet Sunday afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 58.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    64.8 feet on 10/21/1998.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
  counties, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 639 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Northwestern Pasadena, South Houston, Bellaire, Humble, West
    University Place, Galena Park, Jacinto City, Jersey Village,
    Hunters Creek Village, Bunker Hill Village, Piney Point
    Village, Aldine, Greater Greenspoint, Northside / Northline,
